Tokyo’s Emblem Hostel Nishiarai is Cheap and Comfortable!

Tokyo’s largest hostel, “Emblem Hostel Nishiarai,” opened in December of 2015.
It is an incredibly comfortable place to stay despite its surprisingly cheap cost, around 2000 yen per night (tax included), and they even offer free breakfast for guests.
I was extremely surprised by the combination of quality and affordability that this facility offers!

Convenient Location!

Emblem Hostel Nishiarai is located just a 1-minute walk from the east exit of the Tobu Isesaki Line’s Nishiarai Station. It’s a very convenient location for sightseeing!

There is an AEON store right in front of the hostel. It has everything you could need for day-to-day living in its supermarket, 100-yen store, and more.

Next door there is a ramen shop.

And the hostel’s ground floor is a fitness gym. (Must pay to use.)

Introduction of Facilities!

Here is the entrance.
Free wi-fi is available throughout the building.
The entirety of the building’s interior is non-smoking. (Smoking is only allowed on the 3rd floor’s roof terrace.)

You can take the escalator to go upstairs.

Here is the reception area.

Here is the lounge. You can enjoy free breakfast here.

Umbrellas are free for guests to use.

Café and bar.

Soft drinks cost 200 yen, and cocktails are as cheap as 450 yen, so drinks are very affordable.

Introducing the Interior!

Rooms are locked by key cards.

There are also large lockers inside the rooms.

The rooms are dormitory-style and hold 8 people. This type of room is around 2300 yen (price varies depending on the day).
There are also women-only rooms and private rooms available.

The mattresses are from Simmons, a United States brand.

Near the pillow are a light and a place to put some personal belongings.

There is also a convenient USB outlet available in the rooms.

This is the shared restroom.

The facility’s vending machines are also cheaper than usual, with drinks around 100 yen.

There is also a tatami area.
The tatami area is spacious and very comfortable!

Here is the kitchen. Thanks to the potential to cook for yourself, Emblem Hostel Nisharai is perfect for long-term stays too.
The dishes are also free for guests to use.

There is a common-area refrigerator available for guests.

There’s even a Japanese garden!

Bicycles are available to rent at 500 yen for 4 hours or 700 yen for a day.

I recommend this hostel the most out of all the guesthouses I’ve stayed in so far!
The hostel is a little bit out of the way, with Tokyo Skytree and JR Ueno Station being about 20 minutes away by train. However, there are many perks to staying here, such as nearby stations and supermarkets, cheap but spacious rooms, and friendly staff.
The free breakfast is a modest offering of things like potato salad, bread, and cereal, but it’s certainly appreciated.
I also recommend this hostel for longer stays!

Features: Lounge, close to Nishiarai Station, right next to an AEON store, feels refined, free breakfast
