“Kiwamiya” is the place to eat Imari beef hamburger in Fukuoka, Kyushu. Be prepared to queue up!
Fukuoka “PARCO” is a department store located in Tenjin which is the biggest entertainment district in Fukuoka. You will find “Kiwamiya” in the basement floor of PARCO. Their signature dish is a hamburger steak.
Locals and visitors from outside the country come all the way here to eat. It’s always busy with hungry customers.

The reason for the popularity is the taste and cost performance!
You can dine on Imari beef, a brand of beef from Saga prefecture, for a surprisingly reasonable price. Saga prefecture is right next to Fukuoka prefecture.

It’s incredibly reasonable to eat Wagyu (Japanese beef) at this price!
At an additional cost of ¥300, you can order the hamburger as a set and then you will get unlimited portions of rice, miso soup, salad, and soft serve ice cream!
Kiwamiya hamburger steak

They are famous for their DIY bbq concept. The hamburger steak comes on a hot plate while it’s still raw.
It’s so fresh, look at the colour of the meat!
You can decide grill it to your liking on the heated stone.
The meat is coarsely chopped so I could taste the flavourful Imari beef dancing in my mouth. Even when grilled to well done it was still so juicy!
Kuroge Wagyu premium steak
This item is only served at dinner time. Kuroge Wagyu premium steak Medium size (120g) ¥1,380（Name in Japanese：黒毛和牛最高級ステーキ）
Enjoy grilling it yourself. It’s as red as the hamburger but it’s a steak.
The high quality beef fat melted in my mouth! The meat was so tender!
The flavour of high quality beef was even more significant in the steak.
Sauces
You will get basic meat sauces and other choices of dipping sauces.
I recommend the onion sauce!
A steal of a deal! I paid an extra ¥300 for unlimited rice, salad, pickles, and soft serve ice cream!
Nothing goes better with good meat than white rice!
It was satisfying to end the meal with an unlimited amount of soft serve ice cream!
The paper bibs were covered in splashes of grease!

There is a Hakata branch near Hakata station and yes, there is a big line up there as well!
But I’ll tell you it’s worth the wait, I will definitely come again!
