HOSTEL WASABI Kyoto Machiya SOBA in KYOTO
Today, I'd like to introduce Hostel Wasabi Kyoto Soba, a traditional old house in Kyoto that has been converted into a hostel.
This inn is located in a residential area about 30 minutes by bus from Kyoto Station. The nearest train station, Kitano-Hakubaicho Station, is an 11-minute bus ride away. However, it is in close proximity to a number of tourist attractions, such as Nijo Castle, the Kyoto Imperial Palace, and Seimei Shrine, making this location surprisingly convenient! There is also bus access heading for Kinkakuji (The Golden Pavilion) and Arashiyama.
A Japanese-style Atmosphere
The charming Japanese-style atmosphere in this old-fashioned house might make you feel like you are living in Kyoto! This house also features a Japanese garden and a hori-gotatsu, a low table over a foot well that has been dug into the floor.
Rooms
Several types of rooms are available: a mixed-gender dormitory, a women-only dormitory, and private rooms.
All rooms feature bedding by Nishikawa Sangyo, a major Japanese bedding manufacturer.
A Cafe-Bar is on the Premises
This inn features an attached cafe-bar, where you can enjoy drinks and snacks.
The menu offers a variety of food and drink, such as Edamame (boiled soybeans), Gyoza (pot sticker dumplings), Okonomiyaki (savory pancakes made to order), Japanese Sake, coffee and waffles.
Social Events
Social events are held on a regular basis.
Guests and their friends are able to join in these gatherings!
