Inokashira Park Zoo occupies about 1/3rd of the area of Inokashira Park. It’s made up of the “Zoo (Main)” area, which features the animal exhibits, a sculpture museum, and archives, and the “Aquatic Park (Secondary)” area, which features aquatic animal exhibits and waterfowl. The zoo is home to over 170 species of animals.

Here you can see a variety of animals up close, including at the “Squirrel Trail” where Japanese squirrels run free.
Inokashira Park Zoo also helps contribute to the protection and propagation of the endangered Tsushima cat from Nagasaki Prefecture’s Tsushima, and this program is also open to the public.

Highlights

  • See Japanese squirrels running free in their natural habitats on the “Squirrel Trail”.
  • In the Aquatic Life House, you can closely observe creatures such as Medaka fish, newts, and frogs, which used to be easily seen in our surroundings.
  • Enjoy rides like a merry-go-round at the zoo’s mini amusement park, “Sports Land”.
