Summer to early autumn is packed with fireworks displays in various places, but this event is especially known for its highly organized and grand production, and there are a lot of people who revisit from outside the prefecture. Seeing the customary Shakudama fireworks and the great balls of fireworks created by famous pyrotechnicians fill the deep blue night sky is a magnificent sight. The elaborate programs with breathtaking successive launches and quick launches, and the combination of the large and small type of fireworks receive non-ending cheers of joy from the spectators. The climax of the it all is the finale with a competition between the 800-meter "Big Niagara" and the "Wide Star Mine". It is a dynamic and magical highlight.
The riverside area is mostly free of charge since it is an open area, but it can get crowded, so it is recommended to go there early to save a spot. If you want to enjoy it from the best angle, then go for the paid seats. (Details for paid seating are yet to be determined.)
