Under the motto of “Meet Japan's delicious oranges," Sowa Kajuen continues to pursue the highest quality, and is responsible for all processes from production of the fruits to processing and sales.
Since its establishment, this orchid corporation has been focusing on the production of Arita mandarin oranges, one of the most famous fruit brands in Japan. It has been promoting cutting-edge agriculture such as the early introduction of fruit sorting by light sensor technology and mulching techniques to increase sugar content. In addition, they have adopted new technologies such as cloud computing systems and agricultural drones to increase productivity and develop all orange production regions.
One of their top-selling products is "Temari Mikan" (790 yen per bottle, containing approximately 7 fruit compotes). The compote is made from ones which did not meet Arita mandarin standards, like a diameter of about 5 cm, and bottled with syrup for a quick delight. The small size means that the skin is thin and the sweetness is concentrated. Since they are freshly processed, the juice of the fruits is well-preserved too.
Although relying on the harvest amount and the availability, the sales period is usually from March to October every year. Due to the overwhelming popularity of the product, it may be sold only by reservation on the official website. A small number are also sold at the direct sales store located on the first floor of Sowa Kajuen's head office, but don't forget to check the stock before visiting.
