Situated within Yamanashi Prefecture known for its grape vineyards, Koshu City produces the largest amount and the highest quality wine in the Japanese wine industry. Katsunuma Budo no Oka is located in Koshu City and is a multipurpose facility offering Koshu wine products, fine dining and accommodation.
An enormous and quite stunning wine cave (underground wine cellar) holds about 180 varieties of Koshu City’s finest wine, about 20,000 bottles in all. For a modest fee, you can sample all the wines with a special tasting dish; tastevin. Enjoy the rich aroma of wine in Katsunuma. Find your favorite wine and buy it at their store.
Guests can also enjoy the restaurant with Katsunuma wine and a beautiful view. Taste fine wine and with a good meal while looking out over the magnificent panoramic nature of the Minami-Alps and Kofu Basin.
The Japanese restaurant serves Yamanashi's local cuisine including Hoto. A barbecue area with a spectacular view is also set up on the terrace (reservation required). Chinese food is also available. The wide variety of dining options is another exciting attraction of this facility.
Hot spring and lodging facilities are also attached. After having wine and a meal, you can relax your body and mind at the hot spring and in a comfortable room. A day trip is fine but if time allows, it’s best to choose the full package of wine, dining, hot spring, and hotel!
