Saga Balloon Museum
Flight simulator and theatre expose’s of the Hot Air Balloon Festival for you to enjoy!
Here is Japan’s first ever Hot Air Balloon themed center, providing a range of ways to learn about the history and schematics behind hot air balloons. Come at any point during the year to learn about the biggest Autumn event in Saga, the Saga International Balloon Fiesta.
Inside you’ll find exhibits of the achievements of balloonists who continue to traverse the skies, or the actually hot air balloon that succeeded in Japan’s first piloted balloon flights some 50 years ago. There’s plenty for kids and adults to love, like the larger-than-life 280-inch super high definition theatre display of the Balloon Fiesta or a flight simulator where you can pilot a balloon and soar across the Saga Plain. There’s even the ever-popular quiz game that checks your knowledge on how balloons flight, or what they compete for.
Drop in for occasional workshops where kids can try their hands at creating things like balloon-shaped keyholders. Inside the hall you’ll find balloon motif items, Saga foods and sweets to browse at the gift shop, as well as a café serving light dishes like curry and pasta using Saga home-grown ingredients.
