Nasu World Monkey Park
You can touch rare monkeys and elephants and enjoy healing time.
Nasu-Kogen plateau, a resort area rich in nature, has many dairy farms and sightseeing spots. One of them is a petting zoo, where you can meet many animals, especially rare monkeys from all over the world.
At the "Fureai-hiroba(petting area)," you can have direct contact with animals. From rare monkeys such as squirrel monkeys, ring-tailed lemurs, and ruffed lemurs to parakeets, rabbits, and even snakes at events, you can touch and feed the animals to your heart's content.
At the "Animal Theater," where performances are held three times a day, you can enjoy programs where animals play the leading roles. You can't miss the stage where the animals are very active, such as the Japanese macaque monkeys, who are good at iron bars and ring toss, and the capuchin monkeys, who use their talent and cleverness to perform garbage separation. Cats and parakeets also perform. You will definitely be fascinated by the fantastic performance of the animals.
There is an elephant ride in ”the Elephant Forest” where you can ride two Asian elephants from Laos. If you make a reservation at least one day in advance, the elephants will celebrate your birthday with you, and there will be a "Let's spend a Happy Birthday with the Happy Elephants!" The elephants will celebrate by ringing bells to the birthday song, and you can also take a photo with them.
