Seto Inland Sea National Park Mt. Noro

A mountain included in the Seto Inland Sea National Park formed by over 1,000 islands of various sizes. You can enjoy mountain climbing, camping, and driving.

Last update :

It is an 839-meter-high mountain included in Seto Inland Sea National Park, one of the first national parks in Japan to be recognized in 1934. It has long been an object of worship as a sacred mountain.
At the top of the mountain, there are the "Kabuto Iwa Lookout (viewing platform)" and the "Hoshifuru viewing platform", and on the way to the trail, there is the "Hachimaki viewing platform", which offer a panoramic view of the Seto Inland Sea. You can fully enjoy one of the most beautiful landscapes in the Seto Inland Sea National Park.

You can see many huge and strangely-shaped rocks, as well as the blockfield created by an eruption about 80 million years ago and the subsequent ice age, and the Hiike (ice pond) near the top of the mountain, where you can feel the power of nature. The trails, nature trails, and boardwalks are all well maintained, so casual hiking is also recommended.

Near the top of the mountain, there are many facilities such as a campground and a visitor center that is a good base for walking. There is also the National Lodge “Noro Kogen Lodge”, where you can stay and enjoy a relaxing walk around Noro Mountain.
