Johnson Town is located along National Route 463 in Iruma City. With several white one-story American-style houses lining up, this town is like the outskirts of the United States. Some houses are restaurants, cafes, and shops selling unique merchandise, as well as furniture. Visitors can enjoy the feel of the town by eating and shopping.
The Air Self-Defense Force's Iruma Air Base, located near Johnson Town, was formerly the Johnson Air Base of the U.S.
This area was built as an official residence for military personnel.
“The US Army House” is built in American style, with horizontal wall panels painted white, and concrete rooftops. Both the exterior and interior, including the wood deck porch and entryway, were built to match the American lifestyle.
The dilapidated Army Houses have been restored, and more than 120 houses, along with the newly built "Heisei House" that matches the atmosphere of the town, are rented out as residences and stores.
Remember that this is a residential area, and enjoy your stroll while taking care not to disturb the residents.
