This convenient sightseeing bus is perfect for efficiently exploring the western area of Sakurajima. It operates around 15 times a day, departing from and arriving at Sakurajima Port, with a total of 12 stops. Key stops include the "Hinotori Megumi-kan," where local specialties and seafood products are sold, and the "Sakurajima Magma Onsen," offering day-use hot springs.
The bus also stops at three stunning viewpoints, offering expansive views of Sakurajima and Kinko Bay. The "Karasujima Observatory" sits on the remnants of a lava flow and is the closest viewpoint to Sakurajima. The "Akamizu Observatory Square" offers a wide view of Sakurajima from a grassy area, and the "Yunohira Observatory," located at an altitude of 373 meters, provides breathtaking panoramic views.
The fare is 230yen per ride, but a one-day pass, which allows unlimited rides for just 500yen, is a more economical option. You can purchase the one-day pass either at the Sakurajima Tourist Information Center or onboard the bus.
