Space LABO ANNEX
A museum to share the fun of science.
This museum was opened in April 2022 as a branch of Kitakyushu City Science Museum ”Space LABO.” Science classes and shows are mainly held on weekends (basically with reservation).
Inside the museum, there is the “World Heritage Visitor Center” with the comprehensive displays which share the world cultural heritage “Meiji Japan’s Industrial Revolution Heritage.” The Yawata Steel Works and related facilities are recreated in a 1/150-scale replica. There are also various panel displays and easy-to-understand visual contents to open your eyes to the whole history of Japanese industrial revolution in the Meiji Era and the valuable world heritage.
In the neighborhood, the Museum of Natural History and Human History “Kitakyushu Museum of Natural History & Human History,” “Kitakyushu Municipal Museum of Art,” “Kitakyushu Environment Museum” and other cultural facilities are clustered for your delight all day.
