Many domestic and international flights carry nearly 28 million people a year at this western Japan’s entrance, Kansai International Airport. It is on an island about 5km off the coast of Senshu in Osaka Bay, famous as the world’s first marine airport on a completely man-made island. The airport code KIX is used as the familiar nickname “KIX.”

The airport hosts shops and restaurants, quite fitting for the gourmet paradise, Osaka. The observation hall, Sky View,* has the “Sky Deck” which gives you a 360° panorama of airplanes taking off and landing, as well as the “Sky Museum” to share fun facts about the airport and planes. It is a fascinating place to be even for non-travelers.

Currently, preparing for the Osaka/Kansai EXPO in 2025, Terminal 1 is going through a huge renovation. Domestic flights will be in one area, the international area will be expanded, a latest system will be added to relieve congestion, make procedures go smoothly and the shops beyond the security check will be made more attractive.

    很多班機同時間抵達,外國人入境護照檢查窗口大排長龍,排了快兩個小時才順利入境,來了大阪很多次問題都沒改善。
