Michi-no-Eki Munakata Roadside Station

This Michi-no-Eki Roadside Station is located along Route 495, connecting Fukuoka City and Kitakyushu City. Its location next to "Satsuki Matsubara," one of Japan's top 100 white sand beaches with green pine trees and overlooking the Genkainada Sea, is very scenic and attractive.

At the produce stand, a wide variety of fresh seafood freshly landed at a nearby fishing port is displayed. The staff will advise you on how to taste and cook the fish and will even process the fish into three pieces for you for a fee. The produce corner sells local seasonal vegetables and fruits, the meat corner sells Munakata beef, Munakata chicken, and other branded meats, as well as a variety of specialty products.

At the restaurant " Mother's Diner HAMAYU," visitors can enjoy fisherman's and farmer's cuisine focusing on ingredients produced in Munakata. Other facilities include a bakery from rice flour produced in the Munakata area and Fukutsu City, a souvenir store selling Munakata area specialties and official Munakata City original goods, and an antenna store.

It is also close to the World Cultural Heritage site "The sacred island of Okinoshima and associated sites in the Munakata region" and is recommended as a stopover during sightseeing.
