The Children's Museum of Culture and Science, which closed at the end of 2021, reopened as Space LABO on April 28, 2022. Visitors can experience and feel the wonder and fun of science through various exhibitions and programs.

The first floor is themed "Kitakyushu and Science," the second floor is "Mysterious Scientific Phenomena," and the third floor is "Space," with a variety of hands-on exhibits, panels, and other various devices. Inside the museum, there are many highlights, including an introduction to Tetsuya Fujita, a world-renowned meteorologist from Kitakyushu City nicknamed "Mr. Tornado," the largest tornado generator in Japan, and a corner explaining strange scientific phenomena around us.

The dome planetarium, one of the largest in western Japan with an inner diameter of 30 meters, uses the latest technology to reproduce the starry sky as it appears in nature. 45-minute programs are available for adults and children, and there is a wide variety to choose from according to your purpose. The "safety seat," which allows viewing of the planetarium even if no one makes a sound, is also available, which is a plus for visitors with small children.
