JR Tower is a multiplex venue located in Sapporo adjacent to JR Sapporo Station. The top floor, on the 38th is the “JR Tower Observatory T38”. This observatory up 160m in height lets visitors see Ishikari Bay New Port to the North, Mt. Teine to the West, Sapporo City, and Sapporo Dome to the South. To the East is Ishikari River, Nopporo Primeval Forest, Mt. Yubari and Mt. Ashibetsu. It is a 360 panoramic view full of wonders.
Inside the observatory, visitors can take a break at the cafe and souvenir shop. They can purchase railroad related souvenirs. At the Sapporo Style Shop, visitors can purchase Sapporo-verified goods.
At the North East is the unique Men’s bathroom. With the concept of “Enjoying space at the fullest”, the famous toilet-architect Junko Kobayashi designed this observatory-like bathroom. This glass-wall bathroom is exclusive to men, but is a popular destination.
