Calbee "Jaga Pokkuru"

Calbee Corporation, one of Japan's leading snack food manufacturers, has been developing products using Hokkaido ingredients under the brand name "Potato Farm," and this "Jaga Pokkuru" was manufactured at its factory in Chitose, Hokkaido. The name "Jaga Pokkuru" is derived from the Ainu word "koropokkuru," which means "a person under a butterbur.

The potatoes used as ingredients are only Hokkaido potatoes grown in fields that have been researched and nurtured in collaboration with the producing farmers. We are proud of the ingredients grown in the land of Hokkaido, which has a large temperature difference between day and night. They also show their commitment to Hokkaido products by using Okhotsk salt made from the brackish waters of Lake Saroma for seasoning.

The manufacturing process for Jaga Pokkuru begins with the careful selection of potatoes of the right size for the process. The potatoes are cut with the skin on to preserve the flavor, and Potato Farm's unique process, which is similar to handmade, brings out the flavor and crispy texture of the potatoes.
