This is a guest house where you can spend your time as if you were living in a 100-year-old house on Yuge Island. The owner, Mr. Yoshifumi Kawabata, was so busy as a businessman that he could not spend time with his wife, Chiyako, and it became his dream to run a guest house so that he and his wife could one day work together. As they traveled around the island by motorcycle, searching for a potential guest house, they finally arrived at Yuge Island. Strongly drawn by the islanders' warmth, the beauty of the sea that changes its expression every day, and the unique atmosphere where time passes slowly, the couple decided to move to the island. They spent about two years renovating an old private house, mostly by themselves, to make their dream come true.
You can enjoy a simple and warm stay as if you were visiting your Japanese grandparents' home on an island in the Seto Inland Sea. The open-air bath is also handmade by the couple and will warm your body and soul in the gentle air surrounded by nature. Accommodation is limited to six people per day.
Dinner is said to be a succession of sashimi, simmered, grilled, and deep-fried dishes of incredibly fresh seasonal fish delivered directly from the island's fishermen, so much so that they can hardly fit on the table.
The inn has its boat for activities such as cruising and boat fishing. The boat is filled with the desire of Mr. and Mrs. Kawabata to have as many people as possible fall in love with this town through the inn.
