Board an 8.5-meter-long catamaran and cruise leisurely among the islands of the Yumeshima-Kaido road. The calmness and the sensation of drifting on the water when the yacht cuts off its engine and runs with only the power of the wind in its big sails are so moving that you feel as if you are one with the sea and the sky. It is also nice to glide along the sea in the strong wind.
The boat is inspired by traditional Polynesian fishing boats. In addition to the stability and openness of the ship, it can take you directly to the sandy beaches, taking you to some of the best beaches that are not accessible by ordinary cruise ships.
The yacht cruise is organized by Sam, who is from New Zealand. He has lived on board with his family in Asia for two years.
He then returned to his hometown to study and work as a ship carpenter. Sam heard about this area of the Seto Inland Sea from his parents, who had moved to the area and were attracted by the beauty of the sea and the warmth of the islanders, so he moved to the area himself five years ago.
The boat was handmade by Sam, who uses no rusty metal fittings and Teflon-coated boat planks, showing the wisdom and skill of a ship's carpenter. His father, an electrical engineer, worked on the engine and other mechanical parts, while his mother, who works for a company that manufactures and sells sails, did the sails.
We recommend the sunset cruise experience not only during the day when the sun is shining but also at sunset when the water's surface reflects the dusk like a mirror.
