Nerima Art Museum

The Nerima Art Museum opened on October 1, 1985, focusing primarily on modern and contemporary Japanese art. In recent years, it has expanded its scope to include ukiyo-e, Western paintings, and picture books, offering exhibitions curated with fresh perspectives and unique themes, making it a favorite among art enthusiasts.

Beyond its core activities of collection management, research, and exhibitions, the museum hosts a variety of educational programs. These include gallery talks by curators and artists, concerts in the lobby, and workshops for learning artistic techniques and knowledge. Additionally, it provides creative and exhibition spaces for public use through its studio and community gallery rentals.

The museum features three exhibition rooms and houses the Nukui Library on the first floor, where visitors can browse a vast collection of art-related books, including catalogs from past exhibitions.

Adjacent to the museum is the Nerima Art Forest Park, a green space adorned with 32 whimsical animal sculptures representing 20 different species. These colorful and uniquely designed sculptures serve as great photo spots, and visitors are even encouraged to touch them, adding to the interactive experience.
