Nintendo Museum
The delights of Nintendo by the years at this museum of interactive and detailed corners.
Opened on October 2, 2024, the Nintendo Museum is the brands public facing hub, now renovated on the former Nintendo Uji Ogura Plant. Step inside to find detailed exhibits and a deep dive into Nintendo's journey and its dedication to craftsmanship.
The first stop is a floor showcasing Nintendo's extensive lineup of products. From the classic Family Computer(it is called Nintendo Entertainment Systems overseas) to the latest Nintendo Switch, the display of historic hardware and software is a sight to behold! There are evenNintendo's early ventures into toys and household items.
An especially worthwhile highlight is the interactive exhibition floor, where classic creations like Ogura Hyakunin Isshu cards, home gaming consoles, "Ultra Machine," "Ultra Hand," and light guns have been reimagined using modern technology. Each activity requires coins (10 per admission) provided with the entry pass, and the number of coins needed varies by experience, making for a fun dilemma about which games to prioritize.
For diehard fans, there are interactive workshops (additional fee) that take a full jump into the world of Nintendo, complete with painting Hanafuda cards or learning the game’s rules through projection mapping. Reservations for these workshops are made onsite at the information desk or workshop area.
The museum also features an official shop with exclusive merchandise and a café where visitors can customize their burgers with a variety of ingredients and toppings.
Entry is by reservation only, with tickets available through a lottery system. Note that there is no onsite parking, so visitors are encouraged to use public transportation or taxis.
