Naminooto Sake Brewery

Naminooto Sake Brewery is a small sake brewery that is dedicated to the art of sake production with a focus on promoting “relaxation upon drinking”. Established in 1805, this long standing sake brewery has been crafting sake in the southwestern region of Lake Biwa for over two centuries.

In addition to their “Naminooto” series, which includes their signature brand, Naminooto Daiginjo "Kanai Taiichiryu" and Naminooto Junmai Daiginjo "Kotsubo Shinshu" which is unpasteurized sake made from 100% rare sake rice Aiyama, the company offers an elegant and approachable lineup of sake, including the "Eetokodori" series crafted from Yamada-nishiki rice sourced from Hyogo Prefecture, as well as seasonal offerings. While most of these products are available for purchase online, some may only be obtainable in-store, so be sure to not miss those exclusives.

Furthermore, on the fourth Friday and Saturday of every month, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m Naminooto Sake Brewery offers sake for sale by the scale. During these events, they feature different sake varieties, including seasonal blends and special creations by the brewer and toji. Some months may also showcase limited-edition sake, such as nigori sake, along with accompanying events, so be sure to keep an eye out for these unique opportunities.
