Lake Ippeki is a crater lake formed by volcanic eruption some 100,000 years ago on the eastern coast of the Izu Peninsula. Peer across the surface to find dancing reflections of the surrounding mountains and trees, earning it the nickname "Eye of Izu”. The lake measure 4 kilometers around the edge, making for a 60 minute trek you can walk. The well-maintained walking paths around the lake make it a popular spot for hiking. With minimal elevation changes, it's an easy and enjoyable walk while taking in the scenic views of the lake.
