Bios no Oka

Set your sights on Uruma City in central Okinawa for Bios no Oka, a natural botanical garden easily accessible from the resort area of Onna Village. Inside the garden you’ll find a lush, subtropical forest escape where ferns thrive and vibrant orchids bloom for a picture-perfect snapshot of the regions unique and natural flora.

Gear up for activities themed for “nurturing the heart through nature experiences." A highlight is the Jungle Cruise, a water-bound sojourn down a winding 1-kilometer lake route aboard a guided boat through green serenity. Another crowd-favorite is the water buffalo cart ride, offering a laid back way to explore the park as a water buffalo pulls the cart.

Novice adventures where love the chance to canoe at the park's central Dairyū Pond, gliding across the water while observing the rare flora and fauna unique to this subtropical area.

After a day of adventure, head to the on-site restaurant Omoro Chaya to savor local Okinawan dishes such as Okinawa soba and taco rice. The Bios no Oka Garden Center offers a selection of tropical plants, including orchids and air plants, which can be purchased and shipped nationwide (within Japan).
