Taiza Onsen Sumihei

Located at the northernmost tip of Kyoto in Tango Peninsula, surrounded by sea and mountains, Taiza Onsen Sumihei is a historic hot spring inn that has been around for about 150 years. From the guest rooms, open-air baths, and terraces, you can marvel at the majestic nature, especially the ocean-view rooms offering stunning sunsets on clear days.

A specialty of Taiza, facing the Sea of Japan, is the snow crab from the Tango and Tajima offshore areas. Here, they serve the highest quality and freshest crabs, dubbed "Hashiudo crab," harvested from Tango and San'in. You can savor the supreme taste of boiled crab, sashimi, and charcoal-grilled crab, among other preparations. The cuisine also features a rich selection of seasonal ingredients, including rare seafood rarely seen in the market.

The hot springs include six types of private open-air baths, each with its characteristics, such as an ocean-view bath, a cypress bath, and a mosaic-tiled lying bath. The guest rooms, incorporating traditional Japanese crafts like Tango crepe and plasterwork, each have their unique charm.
