Restaurant Izumiya Honten

A Western-style restaurant in the port town of Kushiro, founded in 1959, and the birthplace of the local dish "Teppan Spaghetti." While "Teppan Napolitan" originated in Nagoya, this restaurant introduced "Teppan Spaghetti," served on a sizzling iron plate similar to a steak, becoming a local specialty.

What sets it apart are the variety of flavors, such as salt-based or meat sauce. Among them, the "Spa Katsu," a dish featuring a cutlet atop spaghetti smothered in meat sauce, has become a beloved soul food in Kushiro.

The "Spa Katsu" was invented in 1960, combining generous portions of spaghetti with a thick pork cutlet and rich meat sauce. Known for its substantial portion size, this single dish is enough to satisfy a hearty appetite.
