Located about a 50-minute drive from central Sapporo, beyond Jozankei Onsen, Hoheikyo Onsen is a day-use hot spring facility renowned for its 100% natural, free-flowing "beauty-enhancing water," said to leave skin silky smooth. Its open-air baths, among the largest in Japan, offer breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains.
A lesser-known highlight of this facility is the authentic Indian curry served at its on-site restaurant.

Crafted by Nepalese chefs using a generous amount of onions and dozens of spices, the curry is celebrated for its authentic taste, with many repeat visitors coming for the curry as much as the hot spring itself.

The menu features over 10 varieties, including classics like chicken curry and chicken masala, with spice levels adjustable across five tiers. The naan, baked fresh in a specially designed ceramic tandoor, is both large and irresistibly soft and chewy. Side dishes like tandoori chicken and drinks such as lassi also receive high praise for their exceptional quality.

In addition to curry, the menu features a variety of dishes, including juwari soba made with 100% buckwheat flour freshly milled each morning, and succulent jingisukan (grilled lamb) prepared with fresh cuts of lamb loin from Hokkaido.
