Amanohashidate Kasamatsu Park

Located in Miyazu City, Kyoto Prefecture, Amanohashidate Kasamatsu Park is a breathtaking viewpoint that overlooks Amanohashidate, one of Japan's Three Scenic Views. Situated on the slopes of Mt. Nariai at an altitude of 130 meters, the park is easily accessible via the Amanohashidate Cable Car or lift from Fuchu Station.

Upon arrival, visitors are greeted by a stunning view of Amanohashidate, often described as resembling a dragon soaring into the sky. This unique perspective has earned it the nickname “Rising Dragon View” (Shoryukan). The park is also famous as the birthplace of the "matanozoki" (peering through one's legs) tradition. By bending over and looking at the scenery upside down between your legs, Amanohashidate appears like a bridge suspended in the sky, offering a playful and unique way to enjoy the view.

Within the park, AmaTerrace provides a place to dine and shop while enjoying the spectacular scenery. The glass-walled restaurant on the second floor offers a luxurious dining experience with panoramic views of the vast sea and Amanohashidate. On the first floor, you can savor local specialties such as "Kasamatsu Dango" made with Tango-grown Koshihikari rice and homemade sausages featuring Kyoto-Tamba Highland Pork. The shop also offers a wide selection of Tango region specialties, perfect for finding memorable souvenirs.
