Ginkonyu

Nestled in the pristine surroundings of Kamino-yu Onsen, this inn boasts a rich history, originally serving as a hunting and healing retreat for the indigenous Ainu people. The inn's name, "Ginkonyu," commemorates the day its owner discovered the hot spring source during Emperor Taisho’s silver wedding anniversary. Today, it is celebrated as a "Bath of Marital Harmony," drawing many couples who visit to mark their own silver anniversaries.

Enveloped by mountains and spanning an expansive 10,000-tsubo (approx. 33,000 square meters), the inn features five privately-owned hot spring sources. Guests can soak in renowned thermal waters at its open-air baths and spacious communal baths. The grounds offer a unique hot spring exploration experience, with hidden baths such as a rock-hewn open-air bath, a giant tree trunk bath, and footbaths scattered along a one-hour walking trail. The property’s suspension bridge and picturesque gardens provide ever-changing views of rivers and landscapes.

The inn’s Japanese-style guest rooms exude a serene warmth, with windows framing stunning views of verdant greenery, autumn foliage, or snowy landscapes, depending on the season. The meticulously prepared dinner courses, crafted with seasonal ingredients, are another highlight, ensuring a stay that nourishes both body and soul.
