Last update :

Located in central Gunma Prefecture at the base of Mount Akagi, this roadside station opened in March 2023 as a vibrant hub for dining, activities, shopping, and relaxation. With over 20 shops and activities, it serves as a large-scale interaction station, featuring a parking lot accommodating up to 499 vehicles—one of the largest among Gunma's roadside stations. Its convenient location also makes it an ideal starting point for accessing popular tourist destinations like Akagi, Ikaho, Kusatsu, Minakami, and Tanigawa.

The station offers a diverse selection of 17 eateries, including 11 of Maebashi’s favorite local restaurants. Visitors can savor dishes made with fresh, locally sourced ingredients from Maebashi and Akagi, including exclusive menu items only available here.

One of the rarest features for a roadside station is its bathhouse, where travelers can unwind and refresh. At Maebashi Akagi no Yu, the interior reflects a nostalgic Showa-era vibe. The bathhouse features a mural of Mount Akagi painted by Mizuki Tanaka, Japan’s only female bathhouse mural artist. This visually stunning artwork adds to the relaxing atmosphere, making the experience even more enjoyable.

Enjoy Maebashi’s unique "beauty-enhancing" hot springs and the natural bounty of Gunma as part of your journey through the region.
