Nikko Osaru Land
Monkey shows and a chance to meet new fuzzy friends at this heartwarming themepark.
Make your way to Nikko in Tochigi Prefecture to find a theme park centered around the concept of “seeing, playing, and interacting”. Originally the Nikko Saru Gundan (Monkey Troupe) Theater, this coveted destination reopened in 2022 with a total rebrand to bring you all the best of monkeys and other furry friends.
The main stage is the place to find all the wiles of fully trained monkeys via delightful shows. Lights, sound and all the bells and whistles are what make this spot a must-see with new programming each year. There’s also a Sports Stadium, where monkeys compete in serious soccer matches, and the Baby House, where visitors can interact with baby monkeys.
As an added perk, this park also keeps a special Animal Town zone, home to animals like penguins, capybaras, and rabbits. Two types of tickets are available: one for the monkey stage only and a passport that grants full access to both Osaru Land and Animal Town. Interactive experiences like animal petting and photo sessions require additional fees.
The on-site restaurant is another highlight, offering dishes made with Tochigi-produced wagyu beef and pork. The menu is crafted under the supervision of a chef from a popular Italian restaurant in Nikko, adding a gourmet touch to your visit.
