Kanmon Strait Museum

This museum showcases the history, culture, and natural wonders of the Kanmon Strait. In 2019, it underwent a major renovation, transforming into an interactive facility where visitors can engage all five senses to deepen their understanding of the strait.

The museum features a variety of immersive exhibits, including the Strait Experience Zone, where visitors can patrol the strait and try their hand at a ship steering simulation, gaining insight into the lives of those who work at sea. The Strait Retro Street recreates the atmosphere of the Taisho era, allowing guests to step back in time. One of the highlights is the Strait Atrium, a massive open space spanning the 2nd to 4th floors, featuring a giant screen that projects breathtaking visuals of the Kanmon Strait’s history and natural beauty—a must-see attraction. On the 4th floor, a promenade deck inspired by luxury cruise ships offers a stunning panoramic view of the Kanmon Strait, complete with an on-site cruise café.
