Zanpa Misaki

Zanpa Misaki is a stunning cape located in Yomitan Village, central Okinawa. Stretching approximately 2 km along the East China Sea, its towering 30-meter cliffs create a dramatic landscape where waves crash against the rugged rocks, sending white sprays into the air.

At the tip of the cape stands a striking 31-meter-tall white lighthouse, one of the largest in Okinawa. Visitors can enter during open hours and climb to the observation deck for a breathtaking 360-degree panoramic view of the surrounding sea, including Aguni Island and Kume Island. The lighthouse and cliffs make for a fantastic photography spot, with the best angle captured from the viewing platform at the front. Zanpa Misaki is also known as the last place on Okinawa’s main island where the sun sets, making it a perfect location to wait for the golden hour.

The area around the lighthouse is well-maintained as a park, offering walking trails lined with seasonal flowers and "Ikoi-no-Hiroba," a recreational space with playground equipment for children. One of the must-see attractions is the Zanpa Daishishi, a massive 8.75-meter-tall Shisa statue, the largest of its kind in Japan. For those looking to enjoy the beach, Zanpa Beach, with its white sandy shores, lies just south of the cape, offering a great spot to relax and swim.
