In September 2024, Garuda Ise opened in front of Ise City Hall. It’s highly praised for allowing visitors to enjoy a kimono-clad pilgrimage: just three minutes on foot to the “Geku” of Ise Jingu—one of Japan’s foremost spiritual spots—and only two minutes to the bus stop heading to the “Naiku.”
Along with a wide selection of kimono, the shop offers many accessory options such as sashes, sandals, hair ornaments, umbrellas, and bags, making it easy to savor a taste of traditional Japanese attire. During the hot summer months, cool yukata is also available. Men’s sizes go up to about 180 cm in height and women’s up to about 170 cm, with options for children as well. Families can stroll the streets of Ise together in coordinated kimono. Please return your kimono by the store’s closing time of 4:30 pm.
