SAKUBI SAKURA

A charming pink sightseeing train that takes you through northern Okayama, home to cherry blossoms and the famous Mimasaka Three Hot Springs.

Last update :

The pastel pink exterior of SAKUBI SAKURA leaves a lasting impression. This sightseeing train runs between JR Okayama Station and Tsuyama Station, and is a wonderful way to travel through the northern area of Okayama Prefecture, known for its famous hot springs—the Mimasaka Three Hot Springs—as well as scenic cherry blossom spots.

Inside the train, you'll find watercolor paintings by a local artist and a warm, nostalgic atmosphere created with green and brown tones with colors inspired by the mountains and forests of northern Okayama. Each seat is equipped with a table, allowing passengers to enjoy bento boxes and sweets crafted by renowned local chefs and popular shops (reservation required at least five days before boarding). During the journey, attendants provide guidance about the surrounding area and assist with your trip, while also selling original goods that make perfect souvenirs.

In 2025, the train will operate once a day on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays through November. The one-way trip takes about 1 hour and 30 minutes. The train makes brief stops at several stations along the way, where passengers can get off for a few minutes to enjoy the scenery or take photos. These include unique station buildings such as Yuge Station, the oldest wooden station building in the prefecture, and Kamekō Station, which is shaped like a turtle.
