Zao Fox Village

A fox paradise in the mountains of Shiroishi City. More than 100 foxes of seven species, including north foxes , cross foxes , and arctic foxe s, are kept here. Visitors can feed and photograph the free-range foxes outdoors, and even hold a fox cub in their arms (see the official website for details).

This is a very popular activity, as it allows visitors to enjoy the fluffy fur that everyone has longed for at one time or another. From fall through winter, the foxes change to their winter coats, making them even more adorable.

All the foxes in the park are artificially bred and are fully protected against echinococcus.
Long, flouncy skirts and other moving items should not be worn, as they stimulate their hunting instincts. For the same reason, heels with black tights are said to look like rats as well. Strict rules are in place for safety reasons, and visitors should always follow the instructions of the staff.
