Yunokami Onsen
A relaxing hot spring resort where you can enjoy the beauty of the valley is different in the four seasons.
A quiet hot spring village is adjacent to Aizu Railway Yunoue Onsen Station, famous for its thatched-roof station building. Located along the deep valley of the Okawa Keikoku Valley, it has long been a favorite therapeutic hot spring. There are various theories as to when the hot spring was first opened, but it is said that it was first named "Saruyu" (monkey bath) after a villager saw a monkey soaking in the hot spring to heal his sores.
The hot spring resort is located along the Agagawa River and is known for its many scenic open-air baths overlooking the river. It is a cozy hot spring resort, and many of the inns are homelike and reasonably priced.
The spring water is a mildly alkaline simple hot spring, clear, colorless, tasteless, and odorless. It effectively relieves fatigue, improves health, and beautifies the skin. There are eight hot springs scattered throughout the area, including "Saruyu," "Kaminoyu," "Shinyu," and "Tatenoyu," and the volume of hot water produced is also very high.
