AER 31st Floor Observation Terrace

The "AER" building, which is constructed a mere 2-minute walk from the pedestrian deck leading from the west exit of Sendai Station, stands tall at 145.5m with 31 floors. The first to fourth floors are commercial facilities, and from the fifth floor upwards, the building houses offices among other facilities.

The observation terraces on the west and east sides of the 31st floor are open to the public for free. The view of Sendai city from here has been lauded for its beauty. From the west, visitors can enjoy the picturesque sight of Sendai city against the backdrop of the Oushu mountain range, including Mount Zao. From the east, a magnificent view of the Sendai plain and the Pacific Ocean awaits.

The terraces are open until 8:00pm, which means that visitors can also enjoy the splendid night view. As the buildings in western Sendai city light up, they provide a different but equally mesmerizing view, attracting both couples and tourists. Enjoying shopping during the day and then taking in the night view makes for a casually enjoyable date, and its reputation as a popular date spot is well-deserved.
