Kadoya Okaido Branch

Opened in 1955 as a local diner in Uwajima City, "Kadoya" now has a branch in Matsuyama, conveniently located near Matsuyama Castle, Dogo Onsen, and the city center. This restaurant is dedicated to offering traditional Uwajima cuisine with a focus on seasonal ingredients, fresh produce, and a vibrant dining experience.

A must-try dish at Kadoya Okaido is the famous "Uwajima Taimeshi," a signature dish of Ehime Prefecture. There are two types of Taimeshi in Ehime: the Imabari and Matsuyama style, where the whole sea bream is cooked with rice, and the Uwajima style, where sashimi of sea bream is marinated in a special sauce and served with condiments. Being originally from Uwajima City, Kadoya specializes in the Uwajima-style Taimeshi.

Other local delicacies include "Jakoten" (fried fish cake) and "Satsuma," a dish where grilled white fish (sea bream) is mixed with barley miso soup and poured over barley rice. In the evening, Kadoya offers course meals, allowing diners to fully experience the flavors of Uwajima without leaving Matsuyama.
