Situated in Kobe Kitano Ijinkan district, where many former residences of Westerners are located, this Starbucks store is a prime example of Starbucks Regional Landmark Stores initiative. These stores are architecturally designed to symbolize various regions in Japan, aiming to broadcast local cultures to the world.

The Starbucks itself makes use of "Kitano Monogatari", a two-story wooden western-style mansion built in 1907. The mansion was once disassembled, but in 2000, it was reconstructed in its current location and registered as a Tangible Cultural Property.

The wooden Starbucks logo at this store is a unique design, found only here. Inside the store, original elements such as doors and flooring from the era have been preserved, creating a space with a distinct character. The interior is divided into several rooms - a lounge, dining room, guest room, and more. Each room features furnishings that match its character, allowing visitors to enjoy different atmospheres. Find your favorite spot and indulge in a drink or dessert.

Starbucks is really good at transforming these historic buildings into cafes. This one was renovated from a two-story wooden Western-style house built in 1907, called Kitano Monogatari. It has a lot of historical significance. Definitely worth stopping by for a coffee break!
